Calico Technology Selects FirstFloor Software For Web-Based Marketing Encyclopedia; Leading Provider of Technology Enabled Buying and Selling Solutions To License FirstFloor's Corporate Document Push Technology.

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 22, 1997--First Floor, Inc. and Calico Technology today announced an agreement to integrate FirstFloor's Smart Delivery(tm) in the next release of Concinity, Calico's award winning ecommerce and interactive selling system.

The resulting solution enhances the interactive buying and selling of complex products and services by including an on-line marketing encyclopedia encyclopedia, compendium of knowledge, either general (attempting to cover all fields) or specialized (aiming to be comprehensive in a particular field). Encyclopedias and Other Reference Books
. "FirstFloor products deliver up-to-date business documents and web pages to target users," said Robert R. Payne, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Calico Technology. "FirstFloor has established products with extensive API's and an Application Developer's Kit that allowed Calico maximum flexibility to create innovative solutions that will set us apart in the marketplace. Competing solutions didn't offer the level of integration and flexibility that Calico needed."

Calico's offerings allow sales organizations, customers and end users to analyze requirements, access marketing data, configure solutions, develop quotations, generate proposals and place orders using the Internet, intranets, laptop computers, and CD-ROMS.

The addition of FirstFloor's technology provides Calico's customers with organized and targeted document delivery, such as price lists and product information. Since FirstFloor's products support any file type, there's no need to re-author documents for the Web -- a critical requirement in today's corporate environments.

"Our licensing agreement with Calico marks the growing adoption of FirstFloor's technology by leading client/server software developers," said Judith Hamilton, president and CEO of FirstFloor Software. "Together, Calico and FirstFloor will arm organizations with a powerful web-based marketing encyclopedia and sales configuration system."
