Calibre Press Adds Veteran Editor and Product Manager to Enhance Law Enforcement Training Programs.

CARROLLTON, Texas -- Calibre Press, Inc., a leading provider of training for law enforcement officers across the country, has expanded its roster of experts by hiring a veteran reporter and editor and a long-time product marketing manager. Shelly Wilkison joins as editor of Newsline, Calibre's training e-newsletter distributed weekly to more than 66,000 law enforcement officers. Linda Rustin has also joined the Calibre Press family as product manager to develop and manage the company's educational and training materials for law enforcement.

As Newsline's editor, Wilkison will be responsible for writing important, timely content such as new survival tactics, legal developments, police products, offender weaponry and other issues vital to law enforcement officers. Wilkison is president of a Texas-Louisiana based publishing and consulting firm that produces newsletters, magazines and political direct mail for law enforcement associations and political candidates.

She also contributed articles and served as editor of two law enforcement related books, The Ultimate Sacrifice: Trials and Triumphs of the Texas Peace Officer, published by the Combined law Enforcement Associations of Texas; and Practical and Principled Solutions for Implementing Change, Making Reforms and Handling Crisis for Police Managers and Police Union Leaders, published by the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.

Previously, Wilkison worked as a reporter and editor for several newspapers in Texas. In addition, she also worked in the Texas Senate as a press secretary and legislative aide. Wilkison earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and Spanish from Baylor University 

As product manager, Rustin will be responsible for law enforcement products offered in Calibre Press' Survival Selections catalog such as books, tapes and CD-ROMs. Rustin's 14 years of experience includes leading product development teams and launching products, as well as determining product strategy through processes such as market sizing, posititioning, forecasting and competitive analysis.

Prior to Calibre Press, Rustin served as national merchandising manager for Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages. She was senior manager of information services for VHA Inc., a nationwide network of community-owned health care systems and their physicians, and product market manager for General Electric's IT products and services. Rustin also worked with PageNet, Inc. and Ford Motor Company earlier in her career. She received her MBA from Abilene Christian University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Babson College.
