Caliber Collision Centers Expands into Palm Springs Market; Caliber Acquires the Bensi Auto Body Two Store Chain.

IRVINE, Calif.--(AutomotiveWire)--Dec. 1, 2000

Caliber Collision Centers, an Irvine-based operator of high-quality collision repair facilities in California California (kăl'ĭfôr`nyə), most populous state in the United States, located in the Far West; bordered by Oregon (N), Nevada and, across the Colorado River, Arizona (E), Mexico (S), and the Pacific Ocean (W).  and Texas, has acquired Bensi's Body Shop in Palm Springs, Calif. and Bensi's Auto Body in Cathedral City, Calif., one of the largest collision repair service providers in the rapidly growing Coachella Valley Coachella Valley (kō'əchĕl`ə), arid region, SE Calif., N of the Salton Sea. Water is brought into the region by artesian wells and by the Coachella Canal (123 mi/198 km long), a branch of the All-American Canal built between 1938 and  market.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The addition of Bensi's extends Caliber's position as the largest collision repair provider in California with 27 centers throughout Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California.
