The term is a contraction of "Console tty", that is, "Console TeleTYpe". ) has recently received final confirmation from the Canadian Federal Government that it has been awarded two contracts through Public Works and Government Services Canada Public Works and Government Services Canada, also referred to as Department of Public Works and Government Services, is the department of the government of Canada with responsibility for the government's internal servicing and administration.  to provide support to the Department of National Defence.

Signal Operator Training - The first contract is to provide a team of instructional staff for all apprentice and journeyman Signal Operators training to the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics (CFSCE CFSCE Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics ) at Canadian Forces Base A Canadian Forces Base or CFB (French Base des forces canadiennes or BFC) refers to a military installation of the Canadian Forces. For a facility to qualify as a Canadian Forces Base, it must station one or more major units (eg.  Kingston. The contract has a potential value of $7.7 million over an initial 1-year term with 4 option years. Work commenced on this contract during the first fiscal quarter of 2003.

CANCAP CANCAP Canadian Forces Contractor Augmentation Program  - Canadian Contractor Augmentation Program - The second contract is to provide professional services (job) professional services - A department of a supplier providing consultancy and programming manpower for the supplier's products.  to the Canadian Forces Joint Support Group. Calian staff will assist with the design, preparation and implementation of the processes, procedures and instructions related to the implementation and operation of private sector contracts for the augmentation of CF resources on deployed operations. This contract is valued at $3 million over an initial 3-year term with 2 option years. Work commenced on this contract during the first fiscal quarter of 2003.
