Calian Technology Ltd. is pleased to announce that its Technical Services Division has been awarded as the result of a competitive process, a contract from the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing The Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS) is a branch of Natural Resources Canada's Earth Science Sector. It was created in 1970 with Lawrence Morley as the first Director General. (CCRS CCRS Canada Centre for Remote Sensing CCRS Configuration Change Request CCRS Child Care Review Services CCRS Centrex Customer Rearrangement System CCRS Council for Cadet Rifle Shooting (UK) ) and Natural Resources Canada Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is a department of the government of Canada responsible for natural resources, energy, minerals and metals, forests, earth sciences, mapping and remote sensing. to provide the services of a multi-disciplined group of technologists and technicians for the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of the Prince Albert Satellite Station (PASS). The contract is valued at $1.1M CDN (Content Delivery Network) A system of distributed content on a large intranet or the public Internet in which copies of content are replicated and cached throughout the network. over a two year period and has three additional one year options. This win in conjunction with current CCRS contracts for the O&M of the Gatineau Satellite Station and support to the operation of the Satellite Acquisition Services Centre will afford an opportunity for Calian to enhance support to CCRS. Calian is also pleased to announce that during its second quarter, its Technical Services Division received a one year extension on it's CF-18 Liaison Office contract with the Department of National Defence. This is the third consecutive contract, (since June 1988), under which Calian has been providing program management and technical services in support of a fully privatised Canadian Forces CF-18 Liaison Office. The value of this extension is $700,000.00 CDN and brings the total value of the contract to $3.2M CDN. As well during the second quarter, Calian's Technical Services Division was awarded a contract with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide technical staff to prepare, coordinate and conduct exercises supported by the JANUS simulation system and to act as Interactors to operate the JANUS system at the Land Force Western Area (LFWA LFWA Land Force Western Area LFWA Lightweight Family of Weapons and Ammunition ) Simulation Centre based in CFB Edmonton. This contract is valued at $570,000.00 CDN. This contract is an extension of the services that Calian has been providing to DND at the Joint Command and Staff Training Centres located in Kingston and Gagetown.
