Symposium

March 6 to 7--The Center for Architecture will hold the first US/UK Architects' International Symposium. Presentations will cover such topics as "The Role of HM Government in Promoting Architectural Services," "Architects Collaborate: Creating the Team" and "The Role of the Consultant: a comparison of UK/ US Practice." PWC Awards

March 18--Professional Women in Construction will hold its 2004 Awards Reception from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Nancy Czesak, of Tishman Construction, Marcello Velez, of Colombia University, and Kristy Holt, of Turner Construction, will be among the award recipients. OMI 

March 11 & 12--The Ornamental Metal Institute of New York in conjunction with the Architectural Engineering Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers is sponsoring a conference where leading practitioners will share their experience and insights about modern curtainwall systems, specifically with regard to their design, engineering, fabrication, installation and testing. The conference will be held at the McGraw Hill Auditorium, 1221 Avenue of the Americas from 1 to 5 p.m. Membership price is $125, nonmembers $150. Exhibition

March 23-29--Brooklyn-based architectural metal fabricator, Haresh Lalvani, PhD,will be the focus of a new exhibition at the Urban Center. Morpho Genomics: The Milgo Experiment in Shaping Surfaces will be on view March 23 through April 30. The opening reception will be March 29, 6 to 8 p.m.. There will be a lecture by Lalvani on March 31 at 6 p.m.
