Caldor to open new store in West Brockton.


NORWALK, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 12, 1995--Caldor, the Northeast's leading discount retailer, will open the doors to its newest Massachusetts store, located at 700 Oak St., in West Brockton, on Thursday, July 27, 1995. This is Caldor's twenty-fifth store in Massachusetts, and the twentieth store in the Boston area.

The 113,275 square foot West Brockton store has a 89,083 square foot sales floor. The store employs approximately 120 full and part-time associates. This brings the Caldor statewide employment total to 2,472.

 and hardware--all at discount prices. Offering the latest retail trends, this store will provide the community with a place to find everything for the family and home.

The West Brockton Caldor is a single-level all new construction, built to Caldor prototype specifications. The store entranceway is spacious with park-like benches for customers and a free-of-charge carousel for children. The latest video releases air on television monitors in the entrance atrium atrium (ā`trēəm), term for an interior court in Roman domestic architecture and also for a type of entrance court in early Christian churches. The Roman atrium was an unroofed or partially roofed area with rooms opening from it. , and customers, as always, are greeted by the giant Caldor gumball machine A gumball machine is a toy or commercial device, a specific type of vending machine, which dispenses gumballs, usually for a small fee paid in coins.
