Caldera Resources Inc.: A Pale Yellow Transparent Micro Diamond Recovered from 4.4kg Runton Drill-Chip Fusion Sample.SOUTH PERTH, Western Australia This article is about an inner southern suburb of Perth. For the local government area, see City of South Perth. It uses a high-energy focused beam of electrons to generate X-rays characteristic of the elements present within a sample volumes 1 to 3 , one microdiamond was recovered from a 4.4kg drill chip sample treated by caustic fusion at the Striker Resources Laboratory in Perth. The sample treated was from the +100 - 300 micron screen fraction of drill sample material. The microdiamond is pale yellow and is an octahedron octahedron: see polyhedron. modified with minor development of dodecahedral faces and very minor cube faces. It measures 140 microns along all axes. Abundant trigon development is evident on each of the octahedral oc·ta·he·dral adj. Having eight plane surfaces. oc ta·he dral·ly adv. faces.
Identification and confirmation was made by Mr. M. Verrall of CSIRO CSIRO Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (Australia) with use of the Scanning Electron Microscope scan·ning electron microscopen. Abbr. SEM An electron microscope that forms a three-dimensional image on a cathode-ray tube by moving a beam of focused electrons across an object and reading both the electrons scattered by the object and . The company considers that this result, from a small test sample, to be encouraging and the company will now treat a number of larger samples using the same caustic fusion technique at the Striker Resources Laboratory with the view to replicate this result. The company also reports the recovery of further chrome spinels from drill chip samples processed by Western Geolab of Perth and taken from two separate intervals in the first drill hole. This result now confirms the presence of chrome spinels at four separate 2 metre sample intervals in Drill Hole #1. These chrome spinels will be examined using the Scanning Electron Microscope at CSIRO and then analysed using the electron microprobe at the University of Western Australia Western Australia, state (1991 pop. 1,409,965), 975,920 sq mi (2,527,633 sq km), Australia, comprising the entire western part of the continent. It is bounded on the N, W, and S by the Indian Ocean. Perth is the capital. . Observation of the drill chips from Drill Hole #1 would indicate that the weathered rock intersected from 20 metres to end of hole at 90 metres is consistently similar and would probably produce chrome spinels throughout this intersection. The results to date indicate that the drilling has intersected the uppermost section of a kimberlitic or lamproitic intrusive complex, which has up to 20-30 metres of recent overburden at the two sites recently drilled. A follow up drill programme is now being planned for next year with 200 metre deep drill holes in order to obtain fresh rock samples. The processing of samples from the recent drill programme will be ongoing. The 100% owned Runton diamond prospect covers an area of 200 square kilometres and is located 300 kilometres east of the town of Newman in the Pilbara Mineral Field. Previous 200 metre line-spaced airborne magnetic data defined the target as a very low amplitude, linear feature, several kilometres in length and up to 200 metres in width. The depth extent, as defined by interpretation of the geophysical data by Barrett Geophysical Exploration Consultants, gave the body a minimum depth extent of 600 metres with a near vertical inclination. Other dyke-like bodies are present within the Runton Exploration Licences and will require investigation. A programme of two reverse circulation (RC) drill holes was completed in September 2004 by Peak Drilling Services, for a total of 167 metres. These were located in the central part of the 'northern' dyke and approximately 4.5 kilometres from the eastern end of the structure where previously collected surface samples produced abundant chrome spinels along with 22 micro-diamonds from a total of 6.4 kilograms of rock material. Caldera is engaged in diamond exploration in Australia through five projects. Two projects are located in the Pilbara region of northern Western Australia, one of which is joint ventured with Mr. Ronald Winston of Harry Winston Harry Winston (March 1, 1896 – December 8, 1978) was an American jeweller. He donated the Hope Diamond to the Smithsonian Institution in 1958 after owning it for a decade. Inc. The company also has two projects located adjacent to the Ellendale Lamproite Field in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Both of these projects are also joint ventured under separate arrangements with Mr. Ronald Winston. One project is located on the Yilgarn Craton | The Yilgarn Craton is a large craton which constitutes the bulk of the Western Australian land mass. It is bounded by a mixture of sedimentary basins and Proterozoic fold and thrust belts. Zircon grains in the Jack Hills, Narryer Gneiss Terrane have been dated at ~4. of Western Australia, which is joint ventured with SouthernEra Diamonds Inc. (SDM SDM - Schematic Data Model :TSX). Caldera also has four base metal/gold projects in South Australia. One of these projects is the Mt. Carulina Project which is an Olympic Dam - style base metal/gold target.
