The BubbleTube technology uses two non-miscible fluids to generate micro reactors in which the precipitation reagents are thoroughly mixed. The reaction conditions in the micro reactors are identical, yielding precipitated particles that are very uniform and small in size with a controlled morphology, opening avenues for new high-tech materials. The scale-up of powder synthesis by precipitation is a difficult challenge in the chemical industry. The scale-up problems often encountered can be avoided using the scale-out concept of the BubbleTube. This concept consists of simply multiplying the number of elementary tubes using a combination of micro-, mini- and macro-technology.
