CalciTech Announces New Product for Food, Pharma & Cosmetics Sectors.

LONDON -- CalciTech Ltd. (OTCBB:CLKTF)(Ofex:CLK)(Freiverkehr:XCH XCH - Christmas Island (airport code)
XCH - Exchange
) announces its latest synthetic calcium carbonate (SCC) based product, CalciSPTM, aimed at the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors.

CalciSPTM is characterised by its extreme high purity. CalciSPTM was analysed by the Analytical Laboratory of the Geneva Institute of Technology, the findings of which are given in the table below. Values for heavy metals as found by the Institute are given and compared to the US Pharmacopeia pharmacopeia /phar·ma·co·pe·ia/ (-ko-pe´ah) an authoritative treatise on drugs and their preparations. See also USP. pharmacopei´al
United States Pharmacopeia  see under U.
 25 (USP25) limit specifications.

The table below further provides the published data on two leading products on the market today, a PCC-based and a GCC-based product. The table shows that CalciSPTM is substantially purer in heavy metals content than either of the two leading products and far surpasses regulatory demands; both USP25 and California's Proposition 65, which has been a major driving force for purity improvement within the industry.

CalciSPTM has outstanding processing properties and shows little to no observable abrasiveness
1. The property of a substance that causes surface wear by friction.
2. The quality of being able to scratch or abrade another material.
, a characteristic that is extremely important in the processing of tablets, for instance.

Jean-Claude Masson, CalciTech's Marketing Manager for non-paper products, stated, "In our discussions with producers, it has become apparent that regulations have had a strong impact on demand for super pure products. In working with potential customers, as CalciTech has done in the paper industry, we have identified those properties that are of most value to the operators in these sectors and have designed CalciSPTM accordingly. Combined with the superior processing properties of our SCC based products, we believe we have created a very compelling product for the food, pharmaceutical & cosmetics industries."

Francois Roux, Product Development Director for CalciTech, stated, "The development of CalciSPTM followed naturally from the capabilities of our technology. Unlike other processes, where purity is very much influenced by the quality of the raw material, our process is able to selectively dissolve calcium from raw material, which leads to a higher purity than generally observed in the industry."

"In developing products for non-paper applications, we have very much focused on the competitive advantages that are derived from our ability to design morphology, particle size and particle size distribution. We therefore expect to be able to launch other very competitive products for sectors such as the plastics, rubber, sealants and adhesives industries."

CalciTech intends to exhibit at the Vitafoods event, which will take place from 9 - 11 May 2006 at the Geneva Palexpo, Switzerland.
