Calatrava 'cubes' are now on sale.

Developer, Frank Sciame, announced progress on his highly anticipated Santiago Calatrava designed 80 South Steet this week, naming both a sales and marketing team and capital advisor for the project.

Cooper-Horowitz, Inc. has been retained by Sciame Tower Development LLC as exclusive capital advisor for the site acquisition and construction of the eyecatching 835-foot ultra-luxury commercial and condominium property.

And the publicity-shy I. Khan, Inc. has been named exclusive marketing and sales agent for the tower that will transform New York's skyline when it is built, reportedly by 2006 or 2007.

"We are enormously pleased to open the Sales and Design Studio and to make available the extraordinary townhouse condominiums Calatrava has designed for 80 South Street," Sciame said.

"We are very proud that the 80 South Street building model will be included in the Calatrava exhibition opening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art this fall. The 80 South Street Tower is exhibited as a prime example of Calatrava's brilliance and demonstrates the evolution of his inspiration from sculptural form to architectural masterpiece."

Sciame is reportedly seeking 25% deposits from buyers looking to own one of 10 spectacular four-story townhouse residences that will appear to float in the sky above the shoreline of Manhattan. The homes are reportedly priced at upto $59 million.

The tower, the first residential structure in the U.S. to be designed by Calatrava, will feature the most exclusive condominium residences in New York.

The property will be comprised of both commercial and residential components. The base of 80 South Street will contain three commercial units on floors 1-15, two of which are four story "cubes" containing 10,000 s/f each. The 10 free standing, four story "cube" condominium townhomes will rise above the commercial space.

The project--whose development team includes Sciame Tower Development LLC., which is a partnership of Frank Sciame, Jr., John Evans and John Golieb--received approval from the NYC Department of Buildings in January 2005. The offering plan has also been approved by the Attorney General.

The 80 South Street Sales and Design Studio is located just steps away at 226 Front Street in the historic South Street seaport district.

Ayesha I. Khan, director of sales, and Mark Ahlman, director of marketing for I. Khan. Inc., will be making private individual appointments for those interested in spectacular residential living in an architectural marvel destined to become a celebrated feature of the Manhattan skyline.

A spokeswoman for I. Khan Inc. said the company has been in the business for nine years, providing "innovative and strategic on-site marketing of real estate property."

She added that the firm specializes in building conversions in downtown Manhattan, but declined to name any specific projects.
