San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. "This project meets our investment criteria, and provides benefits to the people of California through the creation of jobs and housing opportunities."

Earlier this year, the CalPERS Board of Administration committed $150 million to fund construction of low-income and affordable housing projects in California.

CalPERS is the largest publicly funded retirement system in the nation, with assets of approximately $78 billion and nearly one million members.
