CalPERS Selects BRIDGE Housing and Regis Homes as Residential Developers to System's Headquarters Expansion.

The "R" Street Subcommittee of the California Public Employees' Retirement System's (CalPERS) Board of Administration has selected two California firms to build housing adjacent to the System's headquarters expansion on "R" Street in downtown Sacramento Downtown Sacramento is the central district of the city of Sacramento, California. The two firms are slated to begin establishing a real estate housing development plan that will include four parcels of land bordered by Third and Seventh Streets and on the north side of R Street. CalPERS current master plan calls for 180,000 square feet of residential development in accordance with Sacramento's "R" Street Corridor planning policies.

Today's action marks the first time BRIDGE Housing will develop a project in Sacramento. The non-profit affordable housing developer is well known around the nation in cutting-edge housing development practices. Since its inception in 1983, BRIDGE has participated in the development of nearly 10,000 homes serving over 20,000 Californians, including projects in Marin City, Pinole Pinole (pĭnōl`), city (1990 pop. 17,460), Contra Costa co., W Calif., on San Pablo Bay; inc. 1903.
