CalPERS Names Patricia Pinkos to Senior Investment Officer Post.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 2002

The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) has named Patricia A. Pinkos as its new Senior Investment Officer for asset allocation Asset Allocation

Pinkos is a 15-year veteran investment officer with CalPERS. In this newly created position, she will be responsible for asset allocation implementation and the development of a comprehensive risk management program for the pension fund.

Pinkos joined CalPERS in 1987, where she rose through the ranks of the System's investment office. Previously, she served as Senior Principal Investment Officer for the CalPERS Internal Equity program, overseeing a $55 billion domestic equity index fund and a $5 billion dynamic completion fund.

Pinkos earned her Masters in Business Administration from Golden Gate University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan (body, education) University of Michigan - A large cosmopolitan university in the Midwest USA. Over 50000 students are enrolled at the University of Michigan's three campuses. The students come from 50 states and over 100 foreign countries.  in mathematics. She is a Charted Financial Analyst.

CalPERS has assets totaling more $149 billion. The System provides retirement and health benefits to 1.3 million State and local public employees and their families.
