CalCPA names Transitional CEO.John Dunleavy, executive director of the California CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000. Education Foundation, has been named CalCPA's Transitional CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Dunleavy will continue his role as Education Foundation executive director. Dunleavy will serve as Transitional CEO while a search committee appointed by the CalCPA Board identifies a deputy director to serve as chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO) The officer of a firm responsible for day-to-day management, usually the president or an executive vice-president. . The two organizations will remain separate entities, however. Dunleavy, who has more than 25 years of service with CalCPA and the Education Foundation, is not new to this role. He served as CalCPA interim executive director in 2000.
