CalCPA's HR Committee wants you.


Did you know that more than 25 human resources-based bills affecting California employers were passed into law in 2003? How can you keep up with this information?

The CalCPA Committee on Human Resources The fancy word for "people." The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees.  can help you sift through this information and provide other resources for the CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000.  who deals with practice management and human resource issues.

Benefits of being a committee member include employment law updates at each meeting by local employment attorneys, expert employment practices updates and reviews of employment trends.

The committee meets three times a year: August in Northern California Northern California, sometimes referred to as NorCal, is the northern portion of the U.S. state of California. The region contains the San Francisco Bay Area, the state capital, Sacramento; as well as the substantial natural beauty of the redwood forests, the northern  and January in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  (both meetings are at convenient airport locations) and in May at a resort location.
