Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. Agrees to Acquire Hudson Brothers, Inc.


JACKSON, Miss.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 1999--Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:CALM) today announced that it has entered into a stock purchase agreement to acquire all of the outstanding stock of Hudson Brothers, Inc. of Guthrie, Kentucky Guthrie is a city in Todd County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 1,469 at the 2000 census. The city is named for James Guthrie, president of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad when the city was incorporated in 1867. , a commercial producer, processor and marketer of shell eggs. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The Hudson operations have capacity for approximately 1.2 million laying hens. Most of its egg production and processing operations employ a modern, in-line design. The Hudson operations also include company-owned pullet pullet
