 Utility Services, the company announced today.

California Water Service Group subsidiary California Water Service Co. has operated and maintained the Commerce water system, which includes 1,085 metered connections, for the past 16 years.

"We are thrilled to be selected from among the four companies who responded to the city's Request for Qualifications (RFQs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs). We have operated the system by contract for so long that we view our Commerce customers as family. We look forward to continuing to provide them high-quality water services," said David Karraker, Cal Water's East Los Angeles East Los Angeles, uninc. city (1990 pop. 126,379), Los Angeles co., S Calif., a residential suburb of Los Angeles, in an industrial area. It has a large Mexican-American population. There is a performing arts center and a cultural center. A junior college is there.  District Manager.

The city engaged consultant Psomas Inc. to evaluate the RFQs and RFPs it received. CWS Utility Services was recommended as the most qualified bidder. The Council concurred and authorized staff to negotiate exclusively with CWS Utility Services. The terms of the 15-year lease agreement are expected to be reached in about a month.

California Water Service Group is the parent company of the California Water Service Co., Washington Water Service Co., New Mexico New Mexico, state in the SW United States. At its northwestern corner are the so-called Four Corners, where Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah meet at right angles; New Mexico is also bordered by Oklahoma (NE), Texas (E, S), and Mexico (S).  Water Service Co. and CWS Utility Services. Together, these companies provide regulated and nonregulated water utility services to 2 million people in 98 communities in California, Washington and New Mexico.
