 "Polymers and Coatings Science" February 6-10, 2006.

The course will cover many aspects of coating and polymer technologies including resin resin, any of a class of amorphous solids or semisolids. Resins are found in nature and are chiefly of vegetable origin. They are typically light yellow to dark brown in color; tasteless; odorless or faintly aromatic; translucent or transparent; brittle, fracturing  chemistry, pigments and fillers, nanoparticles, additives, coating application aspects, and theology with emphasis on liquid coatings. The short course will feature a mix of academic and industrial experts to provide an equal emphasis on both the fundamental and application aspects of the topic. In addition, industry and government regulatory representatives will lead a discussion of VOCs and air quality aspects of coatings. Participants are expected to have some exposure to the coatings field along with working knowledge in chemistry and other sciences.
