If correct, this would reveal a new understanding of a two-thousand year old series of events with respect to our understanding of Christian origins. Atwill closely compares the writings of first-century historian Flavius Josephus with the New Testament Gospels and comes to the conclusion that the Romans directed the writing of both the Gospels and Josephus' "War of the Jews". The purpose of the empire was to present Jesus as a "peaceful Messiah" who would serve as an alternative to more revolutionary leaders who were creating havoc in first-century Israel and threatening the suzerainty su·ze·rain·ty

Seamus Breathnach (Member): Caesar's Messiah's Vicar is still Fishing for Men.. 10/28/2008 7:30 PM
I think the Popes, all that succession of Holy Roman Catholic and Apostolic shower of fishermen, have fished quite a lot of men out of the Gallilean Sea... I believe they have changed seas and are still fishing in East Timor, Vietnam and South America. They have netted the US long ago and India seems to be well-fished as well. Isn't it time now for Europeans, the ones who have -- as it were - got away, to take the necessary measures to make that succession of fishermen throw back their ill-gotten gains? Wouldn't that be great??

Seamus Breathnach

www.irish-criminology.com
