Caere Announces Cooperative Marketing Agreement with ExperTelligence; Caere OmniForm Internet Publisher and ExperTelligence WebBase ExperForms provide complete solution for electronic forms for intranets and the Internet.

LOS GATOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 1996--Caere Corporation (NASDAQ:CAER) today formally announced a marketing agreement with ExperTelligence (OTC:EXGP).

The agreement provides for co-marketing of Caere's OmniForm Internet Publisher and ExperTelligence's WebBase ExperForms that, together, enable users to build a fully functional, dynamic Web site and database from a scanned paper form for under $2,500. As a result, forms can be filled out within a browser and the submitted data is moved directly into leading databases. Also, the agreement establishes ExperTelligence as a reseller of Caere OmniForm Internet Publisher.

The OmniForm Internet Publisher and ExperForms combination is for organizations of any size that have paper forms and would like to utilize them on their intranet or Internet sites for data collection or related applications.

OmniForm Internet Publisher lets intranet site managers and Webmasters easily convert existing paper forms to browser-ready electronic formats - or create new forms from scratch - for publishing to intranets and the World Wide Web. Also, the product introduces the Open Forms Markup Language (OFML), an open, text-based format for electronic forms on intranets and the Internet that provides significant advantages over current Web-based forms. OFML presents forms that look just like paper originals and allows users to embed "intelligence" such as calculations and validation parameters into these forms. In addition to OFML, OmniForm Internet Publisher saves forms as HTML and PDF, and these formats can be viewed within supported browsers where users can fill in forms, print a hardcopy, and submit form data.

WebBase and ExperForms

WebBase and ExperForms build a complete, functioning Web site from one or more OFML forms and automatically creates all the HTML files and code connecting the files to a database. As a result, all the web pages for adding, updating, searching, and displaying records are up and running within seconds. WebBase is a dynamic Web server that connects ODBC databases to the Web, providing for automatic Web page generation by ExperForms.
