Cadwalader Completes Landmark Fortress Re Settlement; Produces Over $400 Million for Japanese Reinsurance Pool Members.

The billion dollar award was one of the largest arbitration awards ever rendered.

Mr. Schoenberg stated that Sompo and another pool member are continuing litigation against Fortress Re's auditors, Deloitte & Touche LLP, seeking to recover the balance of pool members' damages, which the arbitration panel found to be well in excess of $3 billion.
