Caducian Announces New President David Spencer.

Caducian Inc., a technology company integrating healthcare monitoring systems data flows and the company's patented real-time clinical decision-making support software, announced today that David Spencer of OnBoard Software is joining Caducian as president.

Spencer, who will retain ownership in OnBoard Software, will be focused on expanding the engineering development division for Caducian.

Spencer and Caducian CEO Kinn Moursund anticipate adding dozens of high tech jobs to the San Antonio based engineering/development division of Caducian. "Joining Caducian not only allows me to leverage my experience in building a data acquisition company, but also brings to San Antonio an exciting new company that will directly impact the growth of the technology sector in San Antonio," said Spencer.

Spencer along with Steve Kluck started OnBoard Software in November of 1996, as a result of the closure of Kelly Air Force Base. In less than four years, the company grew to over 70 employees and nine million dollars in revenue. A high tech software engineering services firm specializing in data acquisition, storage, and display, OnBoard Software provides Engineering, Management Information Services (MIS), Web development, and logistics expertise to government and commercial customers.

The focus of the engineering/development division specifically will be further development of the technologies necessary to gather continuous data flows from a variety of patient monitoring devices. "Developing data acquisition and analysis systems is exactly what Dave and his team did at OnBoard Software," noted Moursund. "Dave's experience, both on the business and technical side, will be a major asset for Caducian. Dave has built OnBoard into a very successful technology company in a relatively short amount of time. We are confident he will be a key part of doing the same for Caducian."

The Caducian System will allow authorized individuals a view and analysis of a patient's continuous data flows from a variety of clinical monitoring devices. Data mining and analysis of the huge information flows from these devices can then be explored with sophisticated algorithms as well as analyzed by Caducian's patented software for clinical decision making support. Headquarters for Caducian is in Austin where the company is part of the Akin Gump Technology Ventures. The largest medical co-development agreement for the Caducian System is underway at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
