Cadence Strengthens Management Team With Key Promotion of Charlie Huang.

Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CDN), the world's leading supplier of electronic design products and services, promoted Charlie Huang, Ph.D., to the position of corporate vice president of Integrated Circuit (IC) Solutions business development. In his new role, Huang will continue to manage all business development activities in the company's IC Solutions division. He will also continue to manage the Foundry Access organization, which is responsible for developing and maintaining the company's relationships with key foundries.

Huang came to Cadence two years a go through the acquisition of CadMOS, a company he helped found. At the time of the acquisition, he was the company's president and CEO. Prior to CadMOS, Huang worked for Synopsys, and was a senior architect at Epic Design Technology prior to Epic's acquisition by Synopsys. At Synopsys, he was vice president of R&D in the EPIC Technology Group.

Huang holds a U.S. patent on piecewise linear event driven simulation. He earned Bachelor of Science degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and an MSEE and Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University.
