Cadence Picks Systems Science to Provide Waveform Display Technology; Systems Science's SimWave to be bundled with Cadence's Verilog-XL, NC-Verilog, Leapfrog, and Spectre products.

Science, Inc., a developer of design verification, test, and visualization tools, and Cadence Design Systems, Inc., a major provider of EDA software and services, today announced that they have entered into an agreement to bundle Systems Science's SimWave(R) waveform display with Cadence's digital and analog simulators, under which Cadence will provide SimWave to its entire installed base of simulation users.

The initial phase of the agreement involves over 10,000 copies of SimWave, but the value of the agreement was not disclosed.

Both companies have been working together to integrate SimWave seamlessly with Cadence's Verilog-XL(R), NC-Verilog(TM), Leapfrog(TM) VHDL, and Spectre(TM) simulation environments.

SimWave will be OEM'd by Cadence and provides a uniform waveform display tool for use with Cadence's digital and mixed-signal simulators. SimWave will be part of the new SimVision(TM) design environment from Cadence which uses a common waveform display for all their simulators, and provides higher performance, more powerful debugging capabilities, and enhanced ease-of-use to Cadence users worldwide.

SimWave is the most widely OEM'd waveform display in the EDA industry, and is quickly becoming a de-facto standard. Currently Cadence, Zycad, Epic, Veda, Pendulum, and interHDL OEM SimWave, which is also included in Systems Science's Magellan(R).
