The circuit, often called a chip, is packaged in a hermetically sealed case or a nonhermetic plastic capsule, with leads extending from it for  (IC) manufacturers to quickly add this feature.

Cadence is also developing proprietary Bluetooth IC cores and protocol software, building on a 10-year plus track record in the development of application-specific wireless core technology. The Cadence(R) Symbionics Wireless Design Group provides customers with full product, board, and chip-level development capabilities, with areas of specialization in several established and burgeoning markets, including digital cellular, digital cordless, wireless data, messaging, satellite, and GPS.

Bluetooth Design Services

Cadence can integrate a range of Bluetooth technologies enabling customers to bring their products to market quickly. For customers wanting to create Bluetooth add-ons for existing products, the Symbionics Wireless Design Group has worked with Ericsson to create the Ericsson Bluetooth Developers Kit. The Developers Kit -- designed, distributed, and supported by Cadence -- is helping customers quickly develop small form-factor Bluetooth accessories based on the chipset used in the kit.

For more integrated applications, Cadence is developing IC core technology to allow customers to integrate Bluetooth into ASICs in their existing or new products. The IC cores, including the Bluetooth Link Management Controller and CVSD CVSD Continuously Variable Slope Delta (modulation)

These cores form the basis of world-class design services, accelerating time-to-market from the product specification phase, through product design and integration, to type approval and support into manufacturing.
