A NetCache is an "appliance" because it plugs into the network and performs one function: Web caching.
and content management services, today announced the beta availability of CacheFlow Content Manager, a software solution that simplifies the management of content across a globally distributed network. Content Manager helps content and service providers manage large volumes of frequently changing content and deliver a high level of customer service through an optimized content delivery infrastructure.

CacheFlow Content Manager provides a point-and-click approach for specifying how content is distributed to and updated on CacheFlow Internet caching appliances. The Java-based application runs on any Java-compatible platform and works flexibly with a site's existing model for managing content. Sites can configure both logical and physical groupings of caches across multiple geographic regions to simplify policy administration. Schedules can be set to specify the timing of content updates. For example, portals with multiple Web properties can easily manage when and how content should be distributed to each site's caches. Further, CacheFlow Content Manager allows caches to be grouped by organization, enabling service providers to independently manage content for each hosted customer.

"We offer sites instant scalability through our content distribution services," said Zeb Bhatti, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of WebVision. "With CacheFlow Content Manager, we can better ensure that content is available at the right place and time, providing our clients' online customers with outstanding site performance."

CacheFlow's products and services dramatically improve the speed and efficiency of delivering content from the edge of the network. With CacheFlow, content is moved closer to users, resulting in faster response times and rapid scaling of site traffic loads. CacheFlow enables E-businesses to achieve stronger customer loyalty and higher online profitability since more transactions can be served through a lower cost infrastructure.

"CacheFlow Content Manager is a significant addition to our leading portfolio of content management and delivery solutions," said Patrick Harr, Vice President of Marketing for CacheFlow. "The tool is unique in that a site can set a content distribution policy once and have it implemented globally. With Content Manager, CacheFlow effectively extends a site's content publishing process to the edge of the network, where content users can instantly access the most up-to-date information."
