As Internet usage continues its exponential growth Extremely fast growth. On a chart, the line curves up rather than being straight. Contrast with linear. , organizations with large networks are searching for methods to improve the quality of service for end users.

Service Providers and Enterprises are discovering that the Internet is inherently slow. The slow response times commonly experienced by Internet users are caused by the Internet's latency. Additional bandwidth alone will not conceal this latency. In order to speed Web content to users it must be delivered from a source near them.
