William "Mack" McCarthy has been appointed to the newly created position of chief financial officer (CFO See Chief Financial Officer. ), and Bill Williams has been named director of global quality. Together, they bring a total of nearly 70 years of financial and management experience in the semiconductor and aerospace industries.

Other recent, key appointments to Cabot MMD's executive team include Jeremy Jones, who was named director of the division's emerging polishing pad business, and Paul Feeney, who was appointed program manager of Cabot's dielectric business.

In his new role as CFO, McCarthy provides financial leadership and strategic direction for Cabot MMD. He is responsible for developing and implementing financial and business strategies to guide the continued growth of the division.

McCarthy comes to Cabot MMD from Texas Instruments (TI), Dallas, Texas, where he held various positions for the last 23 years, most recently as controller in TI's Corporate Services division. For 12 years, he was also a member of the Strategic Leadership Team of TI's Defense Systems and Electronics Group. Prior to joining TI, McCarthy spent 12 years at LTV LTV

Williams joins Cabot MMD after spending 35 years with Dexter Aerospace Materials Division, Pittsburg, Calif., where he had a key role in its quality organization as well as various positions in marketing and operations. Williams earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the California State University Enrollment
