Cablevision Systems appoints former NYPSC Commissioner and Deputy Chair to Senior Vice President of Regulatory and Legal Affairs - Telephony and Data Services Division.

Ms. Rosenblum will direct regulatory initiatives and compliance issues for Cablevision Lightpath, the company's telephony subsidiary, as well as for Cablevision's cable modem cable modem

At the NYPSC, Ms. Rosenblum focused on telecommunications, and during her tenure, the Commission adopted a comprehensive framework for local competition. New York State is a recognized leader in fostering local exchange competition.

Ms. Rosenblum also served as chair of the Communications Committee of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC NARUC National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners ). In this capacity, she represented the interests of state commissions before Congress and the FCC (1) (Federal Communications Commission, Washington, DC, www.fcc.gov) The U.S. government agency that regulates interstate and international communications including wire, cable, radio, TV and satellite. The FCC was created under the U.S. , and led the states' efforts on the Telecommunications Act of 1996.

In addition, Ms. Rosenblum served as an advisor on Telecommunications Policy in the Czech Republic and Poland as part of the State Department delegation; as a contributor to the 1994 National Governor's Association Report on Telecommunications; and as an editor and coordinator of the Governor's "New York Telecommunications Exchange Report" in 1993.

Ms. Rosenblum spent nearly 14 years at the NYPSC in various assignments including executive deputy to the chairman and director of the Consumer Services Division. She also served as assistant counsel to former New York Governor Hugh Carey and as an associate Attorney in the New York City New York City: see New York, city.
