Cabletron names two top marketing and technical support executives.

:CS), the leading provider of high-performance switching solutions, today announced the appointment of two senior executives to key marketing and technical support roles.

Stephan Gray, 40, has joined the company as director of worldwide marketing and communications, reporting to Cabletron President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , S. Robert Levine. Gray will oversee all aspects of the company's global marketing and communications efforts, including strategic marketing, advertising, public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most  and other related activities. Gray comes to Cabletron from Digital Equipment Corporation, where he held several executive marketing positions, most recently, vice president of communications strategy.

Prior to joining Digital in 1994, Gray was president of the Center for Corporate Health, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Travelers Companies The Travelers Companies (NYSE: TRV) is the second largest underwriter of commercial property casualty and personal insurance in the United States. The company is headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota and has major operations in Hartford, Connecticut. . Before Travelers, Gray began his career at IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) , where he worked for 11 years in a variety of management positions in marketing and communications.

Ken Sullivan, 48, has also joined Cabletron, as director of service and support operations. Sullivan is responsible for managing all aspects of the company's technical support and service operations. He most recently worked for the Intergraph Corporation where he was executive vice president of service and support, as well as the company's CIO CIO: see American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations.
