(NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :CS) today reported record operating results for its fourth fiscal quarter and fiscal year which ended Feb. 28, 1995. Notes: This amount is calculated by subtracting the following items from gross sales: merchandise returned for credit, allowances for damaged or missing goods, freight of $226 million represented a 34 percent increase over sales of $168.2 million reported in the fourth quarter of the preceding year. Earnings per share were 64 cents representing a 36 percent increase over earnings per share of 47 cents in the comparable quarter of the preceding year (adjusted for a 2.5-for-1 stock split). Net income for fiscal 1995 totaled $162 million or $2.27 per share, compared to net income of $119.2 million or $1.68 per share for fiscal 1994 (adjusted for a 2.5-for-1 stock split).
