Cabletron Systems first quarter to be below expectations.


ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 2, 1997--Cabletron Systems Inc. announced that, based on current information, it expects revenues for its first quarter of fiscal 1998 to be in the range of $360 million to $370 million which compares to $324 million for the first quarter of fiscal 1997. The company expects earnings for the quarter to meet or slightly exceed earnings per share of $0.37 or $57.1 million in net income, reported for the first quarter of fiscal year 1997. The company expects to release final results for the first fiscal quarter on June 23.
