CableSoft to demonstrate on-demand information-based television services; -- At Adelphia Cable Communications' Technology Preview --.


TOMS RIVER, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 14, 1996--CableSoft Corporation, Burlington, Mass., a leading developer and marketer of interactive television software for broadband network operators, today announced that the Company will be demonstrating interactive television applications at the Adelphia Cable Communications' May 14th Technology Preview, to be held at the Toms River, New Jersey The Township of Toms River is a township in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States, and the county seat of Ocean CountyGR6. On November 7, 2006, voters approved a change of the official name of Township of Dover (or, Dover Township) to the  Quality Inn.

At the conference, CableSoft Corporation will be demonstrating on-demand information services See Information Systems.  for television. The CableSoft applications allow television viewers to access locally-based information with a few clicks of their cable remote control. Services include Community Corner, an interactive community bulletin board, through which local institutions, such as schools, can communicate information directly to each subscriber home in the system via the television, and ClassiFinder for interactive classified advertising and yellow pages which allow customized search and retrieval of useful information.

CableSoft applications are based on Wink Communications' interactive television system, and operate in the General Instrument CFT CFT complement fixation test; see under fixation.

 2200 advanced cable set-top terminal. The CableSoft applications do not require additional equipment other than the General Instrument terminal, ensuring that these services will be available to all Adelphia cable customers in Toms River.
