CableLink Interconnects is focused on consolidating cable system ad insertion in order to deliver advertisers and agencies market-wide coverage and superior schedule performance on spot cable buys. Based in Bloomfield, N.J., CableLink utilizes SeaChange's digital advertising system to enable national advertisers to reach key consumer targets in an expanding number of markets. CableLink is deploying the SeaChange system to streamline national ad placement so advertisers can take advantage of cable television's array of program options and targeted delivery.

SeaChange's new SpotCast functionality is integrated into its digital advertising system permitting centralized VSAT (Very Small Aperture satellite Terminal) A small earth station for satellite transmission that handles up to 56 Kbits/sec of digital transmission. VSATs that handle the T1 data rate (up to 1.544 Mbits/sec) are called "TSATs.  satellite transmission of ads, along with their exact placement schedules, to local cable systems.

The MPEG-2 digitally encoded ad, along with its accompanying schedule information, is submitted into the System. At the appropriate time it is automatically sent via high-speed frame relay network to the Hughes VSAT uplink facility. From there it is "multicast" via the two-way satellite network to local digital advertising systems around the U.S. Verification is relayed back through the VSAT network ensuring receipt and guaranteeing that the ad plays to local viewers.

Using a hardware compression algorithm, MXT doubles the amount of main memory in the computer.
