CableLabs extends deadline for high-speed data service RFP.


LOUISVILLE, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 23, 1995--Cable Television Laboratories, Inc., (CableLabs), has extended to June 30 the deadline for companies to respond to the high speed cable data service request for proposal (RFP (Request For Proposal) A document that invites a vendor to submit a bid for hardware, software and/or services. It may provide a general or very detailed specification of the system.

The original deadline had been June 9.

More than 800 copies of the RFP have been mailed or have been downloaded anonymously from the CableLabs FTP server (networking) FTP server - A network server program or computer which responds to requests for files via FTP.

A busy Internet archive site may have one or more computers dedicated to running FTP server software. These will typically have hostnames beginning with "ftp.", e.g.
