), parent company of CableData, Wednesday announced that Michael McGrail, president of CableData's international division, has been promoted to the additional position of president and general manager of CableData Inc.

In his new role, McGrail will manage the company's significant position in the U.S. cable television market, the international arena, and the emerging convergence marketplace.

"In the past, our domestic and international CableData divisions were operated as autonomous units. However, changing market dynamics mandate that we manage the company, its products and the relationships with our customers from a global perspective. This represents a logical evolution of our business, which requires greater focus on the marketplace and our customers' strategic product requirements," noted Castle.

During his 30-year career, McGrail has held senior management positions with a number of Global 2000 companies where he has managed sales, marketing, operations, software, and service and support organizations.

Immediately prior to joining CableData International, McGrail was president and managing director of Gandalf International Ltd. In this role, he successfully merged the operations of two international corporations after Gandalf acquired Infotron Systems International Ltd. McGrail was recruited as managing director of Tech Nel Data Products Ltd. in 1988 and returned the company to profitability in 12 months.

Prior to Tech Nel Data, McGrail was managing director of Litton Business Systems Ltd., where he merged three nationwide companies into a single global entity.

McGrail will be relocating from London to Sacramento.

Randles "Randy" Lintecum will assume the additional responsibility of leading the USCS marketing organization with the new title of senior vice president of marketing and business development.
