InterScan(R) VirusWall(R) to scan and clean email traffic and

attachments for CWIDC's "VirusCheck"

Trend Micro, Inc. (Nasdaq: TMIC; TSE: 4704), a worldwide leader in antivirus and Internet security software and services, announced today that Cable and Wireless IDC (CWIDC) will offer managed virus protection services powered by Trend Micro's InterScan(R) VirusWall(R), the world's leading antivirus solution for the Internet gateway. Set to launch March 29th, CWIDC's "VirusCheck" is designed to protect business subscribers from viruses, worms and similar security threats by scanning all inbound and outbound email messages and attachments at Cable & Wireless IDC's SMTP relay server.

To ensure reliable protection for its managed email and high-speed Internet users, Cable and Wireless IDC required a high-performance, best-of-breed antivirus solution at the Internet gateway. Trend Micro InterScan VirusWall was the solution of choice because of its carrier grade scanning, powerful central management features, and 24x7 support from TrendLabs, Trend Micro's global antivirus research and support network.
