Cable Show '08 Registration Opens Today.

Cable Show Website Encourages Visitors to "Think Big!"

WASHINGTON -- The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) said today that on-line registration for The Cable Show '08 is now open. Making its highly anticipated return to the City of New Orleans, the 57th Annual NCTA Convention and International Exposition will take place May 18-20, 2008.

The Cable Show is the industry's premiere annual convention, featuring the largest exhibit floor and highest attendance of any cable event. The Cable Show '08 returns to a Sunday-to-Tuesday schedule of events, with the first general session and the exhibit floor bowing on Sunday, May 18.

Before the official opening of the show, on Saturday, May 17, the second annual OpenCable Developers Conference gets under way, along with several of the CableCares charity programs as previously announced. Convention events will run through Tuesday, May 20, culminating that evening with an all-industry "Battle of the Bands" fundraising event for New Orleans charities.

"Delegates that attend The Cable Show '08 will be part of something big in the Big Easy," said Barbara York, Senior Vice President for Industry Affairs. "In addition to a full slate of networking and professional development opportunities and a big exhibition floor, Cable Show attendees will be able to join thousands of industry colleagues and give back to the City of New Orleans through a number of hands-on rebuilding and other charitable events."

Delegates who register by March 17, 2008 will save $100 on regular registration fees. The registration process can be completed at The Cable Show '08 website, www.thecableshow.com., which also features information about hotel reservations. Attendees are encouraged to book their hotel reservations using The Cable Show '08 housing block, as participating hotels feature discounts on room rates, and access to show "room drops."
