) has awarded the Company's 2004 Star of Integrity Award to Harry Reichert, Vice President of Digital Engineering for Comcast Cable Communications, Inc. The award, which recognizes the accomplishments of industry professionals in achieving network integrity for advanced applications over cable, was presented to Mr. Reichert by C-COR's David Eng, Corporate Vice President of Sales, at the January 2004 SCTE SCTE Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers

With over 30 years in the cable industry, Mr. Reichert is one of the key technical resources to Comcast divisions deploying digital video and leads the Comcast technical team that is driving the development and deployment of digital video platforms and the incremental revenue-generating products such as VOD, HD, DVR (1) (Digital Video Recorder) A device that records video onto a hard disk from one or more ceiling mounted video cameras. Part of a security system, the DVR typically supports 4, 8 or 16 separate camera channels. , and ITV (1) See interactive TV.

With a focus on delivering quality products to cable subscribers, Mr. Reichert is credited with developing the criteria for Comcast's current VOD architecture, and personally evaluates signal and video quality prior to Comcast's deployments of digital video capabilities. He is also responsible for assessing and defining acceptable HD picture quality and processing within the Comcast digital video delivery and transport networks, and for establishing Comcast's base interface compliance requirements for deployment of digital video, HD video, and VOD. Mr. Reichert's numerous professional accomplishments over the years include the activation of the first direct digital feeds from programmers for distribution within Comcast; serving as the lead Comcast representative in the development of the SCTE-40 Digital Cable Network Interface Standard that formed the basis of the historic "plug and play" agreement between the NCTA NCTA National Cable & Telecommunications Association (fka National Cable Television Association)
