 may hold the key to solving an assault riddle in nearby Hinckley.

 picked up a man and a woman outside a Nuneaton nightspot and dropped them off on the Stoneygate estate in Hinckley.

Shortly afterwards, police responded to a report that the woman had been assaulted at a house on the estate.

PC Jo Vincent, of Leicestershire Police, said: "I am urging the taxi driver to contact us as he may be able to assist with our enquiries.

"He is a white man with a beard who was driving a white estate-type vehicle."

The taxi driver picked up the pair outside the Chicago Rock Cafe Chicago Rock Cafe is a chain of American style bar/diner restaurants in the UK. Inspired by the worldwide Hard Rock Cafe brand, it offers a combination of a themed dining experience with late night drinking and disco style entertainment. , in Newdegate Street, Nuneaton, at about 2am last Saturday.
