KEY MEN

PATRIK BERGER: Left-sided star of the Czech Republic's Euro 96 team. He scored from the penalty spot in the final at Wembley but is suspended from the first two games against Holland and France after he was sent off against the Faroe Islands in October. Scored five goals in his country's impeccable qualifying campaign.

PAVEL NEDVED: The Lazio star is another survivor from the Euro 96 team beaten in the final by Germany. He won three Czech titles with Sparta Prague before making a successful move to Italy, where his accurate shooting made him a firm favourite in the Stadio Olimpico.
