CYPRUS MINERALS ELECTS WILLIAM C. BOUSQUETTE TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 DENVER, Dec. 5 /PRNewsire/ -- Cyprus Minerals Co. (NYSE: CYM) today announced the election of William C. Bousquette to its Board of Directors. Bousquette, 55, is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Tandy Corp., a multinational retailer and manufacturer of consumer electronics and personal computers, with annual sales of $4.6 billion. Bousquette's election brings the number of Cyprus directors to 10.
 Prior to Tandy Corp., Bousquette served as chief financial officer of Emerson Electric Co., and before that he held senior financial positions with Ford Motor Co. and Rockwell International.
 Bousquette, who resides with his wife in Fort Worth, Texas, holds B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Detroit.
 "Bill Bousquette's election to Cyprus' Board provides the Company with added expertise in the financial area. He has had excellent financial training and his business experience includes meaningful exposure to mergers and acquisitions--both in this country and abroad.  Cyprus Minerals, headquartered in Englewood, Colo., is a major producer of copper, molybdenum, coal, lithium, and talc. Cyprus also produces gold and iron ore.
