John Banyas, 21, was taken into custody at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday behind Home Depot The Home Depot (NYSE: HD) is an American retailer of home improvement and construction products and services. Headquartered in Vinings, just outside Atlanta in unincorporated Cobb County, Georgia, Home Depot employs more than 355,000 people and operates 2,164 big-box on Newhall Ranch Road in Valencia. He was examined by paramedics at the scene after complaining of head pain, authorities said. Sheriff's Deputy Travis Kelly said he spotted Banyas traveling south on Bouquet Canyon Road, near Alamogordo Road, exceeding the speed limit and later popping a wheelie wheel·ie n. A stunt in which the front wheel or wheels of a vehicle, such as a bicycle or motorcycle, are raised so that the vehicle is balanced momentarily on its rear wheel or wheels. . ``When I first saw him, he was going well over 100 mph,'' said Kelly, a motorcycle deputy with the Santa Clarita sheriff's station's traffic division. In pursuit yet keeping a safe distance to avoid endangering other motorists, Kelly called for backup and followed Banyas west on Newhall Ranch Road, behind Home Depot. Banyas, riding a beat-up Suzuki GSXR motorcycle, may have been surprised by the deputy and found himself trapped in the warehouse's receiving dock area behind the store. Dressed in white shorts and a white leather racing jacket, Banyas resisted arrest and later complained that he hurt his head during the struggle, authorities said. Sgt. Gregg Lewison of the Santa Clarita sheriff's station said Banyas was traveling so fast that Kelly had trouble keeping the suspect in his sight. ``It was never even a pursuit. (Kelly) said he could only see a speck of him, he was going that fast,'' Lewison said. ``Banyas ran a couple of red lights. According to the suspect, he never even saw the deputy.''
