CYBEX NAMES MANAGING DIRECTOR FOR EUROPEAN SUBSIDIARY; First Products to Ship From Shannon, Ireland, in November 1996.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 1996--CYBEX Computer Products Corporation (Nasdaq/NM:CBXC) today announced the appointment of Kieran MacSweeney as managing director of its new European subsidiary, Cybex Europe Ltd. Mr. MacSweeney will be responsible for manufacturing, distribution, sales, marketing and R&D from the Company's offices in Shannon, Ireland. In addition, Patrick J. Rickard was named chief financial officer of Cybex Europe Ltd.

"Kieran MacSweeney has a strong background in the electronics industry and will be responsible for directing all of CYBEX's European operations, our largest market outside the U.S.," stated Stephen F. We anticipate the new facility will provide us with a strong marketing base to further penetrate the fast-growing markets within the European Community while improving service to our existing customers."

International sales accounted for greater than 20% of total sales for the first quarter ended June 30, 1996, and approximately 56% of international sales were from Europe.

Prior to joining Cybex Europe Ltd., Mr. MacSweeney was general manager of the European facility of Maidenform International Ltd. based in Shannon, Ireland. He has significant experience in the electronics industry, including serving as part of the start-up teams for Wang Laboratories and Intel in their European operations between 1981 and 1992. His experience with Wang and Intel include managerial roles in Information Systems, Business Planning, Production Planning and Control, Customer Service and Logistics. Throughout his career, he has been involved in the successful implementation of World-Class Manufacturing and Total Quality systems and achieved ISO 9000 certification for Maidenform International in 1994.

Mr. MacSweeney has also played an active role in supporting local business, influencing the industrial relations strategy and developing the enterprise culture in Ireland where he is vice president of the Regional Employers Association, IBEC (Irish Business and Employers Organization).
