CYBEX ANNOUNCES OEM VERSION OF AUTOVIEW COMMANDER; First AutoView Derivative KVM Switch.


HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 23, 1997--Cybex Computer Products Corporation (Nasdaq/NM:CBXC) today introduced its first OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  version of the Company's proprietary AutoView Commander. This introduction follows last week's launch of the Company's first OEM product, a 6-port KVM switch (1) See also KVM.

(2) (Keyboard Video Mouse switch) A device used to connect a keyboard, mouse and monitor to two or more computers. KVM switches are used to save space on a desktop when multiple computers are used by one user.

Thornton, president and chief executive, stated, "We are aggressively expanding our marketing channels to include original equipment manufacturers, a new market segment for our proprietary KVM switch and extension products. Our OEM products are based on a new design that features improved manufacturability, reduced component count, and improved margins for Cybex. The new OEM AutoView Commander features the same high-end functionality as the Company's successful AutoView Commander, including Cybex's on-screen on·screen or on-screen
