CYBERSPORTS THERE'LL BE NO PULLING PUNCHES IN THIS HOUSE.

Byline: - Tom Hoffarth

Boxing's black eye never seems to go away. So House of Boxing's revamped Web site wants to apply the ice pack.

Relaunched in the middle of last month, the site (www.HouseOfBoxing.com) has decided to become a place to respond to criticism from the mainstream media, politicians and organizations such as the American Medical Association American Medical Association (AMA), professional physicians' organization (founded 1847). Its goals are to protect the interests of American physicians, advance public health, and support the growth of medical science. .

``Boxing has often been undefended, bloodied and battered by critics over the years, especially on safety issues,'' said Thomas Hauser, Muhammad Ali biographer and one of the top journalists of the sport, along with Michael Katz and Steve Kim, working on the site.

``Much of the criticism has been well deserved, but there needs to be some perspective, plus fairness and accuracy. There has never been a credible place to fulfill this role. We will take that responsibility.''

Along with flexing its editorial clout, the site also has debuted the consensus world rankings feature, combining the ratings from The Ring magazine, USA Today, Boxing Monthly, Fight Game, the Boxing Writers Rankings Poll and its own staff of 15 evaluators. The rankings are adjusted sometimes daily to reflect current bouts.
