In the latest gimmick to try to boost traffic to the official Super Bowl site during the game, site creator SportsLine.com has worked out a deal by which fans can vote for the game's MVP (Multimedia Video Processor) A high-speed DSP chip from Texas Instruments, introduced in 1994. Officially introduced as the TMS320C80, it combines RISC technology with the functionality of four DSPs on one chip.  - and it'll actually count in the final decision.

A select group of media members usually make the choice, but this year, the 15 who do it will have their votes account for 80 percent of the total. The other 20 percent will come from online voting at www.superbowl.com.

Votes can be cast from at halftime until the last minutes of the game.

 poll currently on the site poses this unusual question: Which team will win? There are only two choices. Slighly more than half of the 75,000 votes so far side with the Giants.

For those who are sure, the site also allows you to pre-order Giants or Ravens Super Bowl champion hats and T-shirts.

Later this week, the site will add a four-night Webcast series called SuperBowl.com TV (4 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday), with live interviews and coverage of press conferences and other circus events around the game.

--At $2.4 million a half-minute, it's no surprise that Super Bowl commercials have taken on a life of their own. Their presence on the Web is equally nonshocking.

On www.adcritic.com, a Super Bowl survey will take place Sunday of your picks for the best ad. A list of the ads that ran last year and their rankings with links is also on the site. A similar survey site is at www.SuperBowl-Ads.com.

Last year, 17 dot-coms and Web companies bought a Super Bowl ad. This year, just three - Monster.com, HotJobs.com and E-Trade - are participating on the CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast.  telecast.

--A site that claims to have tickets for the game, www.SuperBowlTix.com, won't be offering them cheap.

So far, upper-level-section, corner-of-the-end-zone tickets at Tampa Stadium Tampa Bay Buccaneers

 are priced at $2,100. Top tickets - club level section between the 35 and 50 - go for $5,500.
