Mosher was recognized for distinguished service throughout his 28-year career with CYA. He is known as a dedicated instructor, who in addition to teaching culinary arts, leads his students by example towards teamwork, accountability and ethical behavior. His nomination read (in part), "Don is the ultimate professional... inspiring his students to make sound decisions in future choices." The nomination process is peer-initiated and the selection process involves both internal and external judging. The recipients were announced at an "academy award" style program, which was attended by nearly 200 individuals.
