CVS selects finalists for creative review.WOONSOCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 30, 1997--CVS Corp. today announced it has selected five advertising agencies to compete in a creative review process. The agencies are Bates Bates , Katherine Lee 1859-1929. American educator and writer best known for her poem "America the Beautiful," written in 1893 and revised in 1904 and 1911. USA; Grey Advertising Inc.; Publicis/Bloom Inc.; Wells Rich Green BDDP Advertising; and Young and Rubicam Inc. All are based in New York City New York City: see New York, city. "We are about to embark on a branding campaign for CVS (1) (Concurrent Versions System) A version control system for Unix that was initially developed as a series of shell scripts in the mid-1980s. CVS maintains the changes between one source code version and another and stores all the changes in one file. , and we are very excited about the quality of the agencies that will take part in the creative review," said Jack Kramer, senior vice president of Advertising for CVS. "We are looking forward to the presentations by these agencies." Kramer said CVS expects to make a decision about a new agency by July 15. Ingalls, Quinn and Johnson, of Boston, currently serves as CVS's advertising agency of record. Ingalls declined to participate in the creative review. CVS has retained Morgan, Andersen & Company, of New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of , to assist with the review process. CVS currently operates more than 1,400 stores in 15 states and had revenues of $5.5 billion in 1996.
